About Me

I am a software engineer with a background in aerospace engineering and experience in modeling and simulating multi-physics systems, cloud computing, and working with Docker and Kubernetes.

My Story

I am a highly skilled software engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto, with a focus on strengthening my systems engineering and software development skills. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where I majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in Computational Engineering.
During my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong interest in Computer-Aided Engineering (C.A.E) and gained both educational and project-based experience in this field. In my second year, I was introduced to computational mechanics and worked on modeling and simulating structural mechanics problems. I also completed a summer project in which I modeled and simulated the biodiesel production process in a batch reactor, which sparked my interest in multi-physics simulations and software development.
In my third and fourth years, I worked on a project involving the modeling of wind turbines using the actuator surface method. This work significantly reduced the computational time for wind farm simulations by roughly 80% and was presented at an international conference and published in a paper. I also began exploring other domains of software development and became particularly interested in web development. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I took several courses and worked on multiple personal, university, and freelance projects in this area.
Throughout my master's studies, I have continued to work as a part-time software engineer, developing a strong skill set in cloud computing applications. With my solid engineering foundations and expertise in software development, I excel at all aspects of the software engineering process, from development to deployment and maintenance. I also have excellent team leadership skills and have demonstrated strong management capabilities. I am currently seeking full-time opportunities to further improve my skills and gain valuable experience.

Software Engineering

Software development is a crucial element of my professional skill set that allows me to apply my engineering knowledge to solve real-world problems and provide end-to-end solutions in both robotics and computational mechanics. In addition to my expertise in these areas, I have developed a strong interest in web application development and have gained experiential knowledge in designing and developing scalable back-end systems. I have also gained experience in cloud computing and am currently preparing for the Google Cloud Associate Engineer certification. In my current roles as a Software Engineer at the T-CAIREM and a Full-Stack Software Engineer in a startup, I have the opportunity to work with software engineers from renowned institutions such as UofT, MIT, and Google, as well as develop a proprietary MLOps pipeline served through Docker and Kubernetes using the Django framework. I am continuously seeking opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge in both cloud computing and edge computing, as I believe that staying up-to-date on the latest technologies is key to success in the software engineering field.

Robotics

Robotics is a rapidly growing field with numerous practical applications. As a software engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, I have gained valuable experience in robotics through my studies and projects. I have worked on various aspects of robotics, including the design and implementation of autonomous systems and the development of control algorithms for drones. I have also gained expertise in image processing and visual odometry, as well as motion planning and navigation for autonomous drones. My work has demonstrated my ability to apply engineering principles to the development of innovative solutions in robotics. I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge in this exciting field.

Computational Mechanics

As a graduate with both theoretical and experiential knowledge in computational mechanics, I have a strong foundation in computer science, mathematics, and applied mechanics. My expertise in computational mechanics allows me to utilize computer-aided engineering for solving industry-critical problems, such as modeling and simulating multi-physics systems. In addition to conducting reliable simulations, I am proficient in developing custom mathematical models and implementing them in Matlab and Python. My portfolio on Github features a variety of completed projects in computational fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and process modeling and optimization.
